Hawthorne Sea Spar Varnish is a ready mixed alkyd/polyurethane high gloss or satin finish varnish for use on decks, hulls, boat tops and interior cabin surfaces. This varnish is designed to provide excellent resistance to the elements of marine exposure, thus providing necessary protection to the surfaces on which it is applied.

PREPARATION IS THE KEY TO A SUCCESSFUL JOB:
Paint only clean dry surfaces. Remove all grease, oil, wax or other foreign surfaces with solvent or detergent.

ON PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES:
Sand well with 80-120 grit sandpaper and then wipe down using a cloth dampened with mineral spirits. Allow to dry, then apply Hawthorne Sea Spar.

FOR USES ON BARE WOOD:
Sand bare wood with 100 grit sandpaper. Remove sanding dust using a cloth dampened with mineral spirits. Apply a white undercoating then lightly sand and wipe clean. The apply the Hawthorne Sea Spar Varnish.
