It delivers a professional satin finish while meeting the toughest coastal VOC compliance requirements. This is not a compromise product — it uses advanced waterborne resin technology that provides genuine durability, UV resistance, and saltwater protection. Ideal for marinas near residential areas, work inside enclosed boat sheds, and any project where low-odor and low-emissions are a priority. Cleans up with soap and water.
Surface Preparation
Sand existing coatings with 180-220 grit sandpaper
Clean with fresh water and a non-solvent degreaser — do not use solvent-based cleaners
Confirm a compatible primer for the substrate and intended topcoat
Ensure the surface is completely dry — waterborne coatings are sensitive to moisture during application
Do not apply over uncured solvent-based paints
How to Apply
Application method
Brush, roller, or airless spray. Do not thin with solvent — use water if thinning is needed (up to 5%).
Number of coats
2-3 coats for full protection. Waterborne coatings build thinner per coat than solvent-based products.

2-4 hours between coats. Full cure in 7-10 days.

Can I use PFB Professional Reducer with Eco Marine Coating?
No. PFB Professional Reducer is a solvent-based product and is not compatible with waterborne coatings. If you need to thin Eco Marine Coating, add up to 5% clean water.
Does it meet California VOC requirements?
Yes. PFB Eco Marine Coating is formulated to comply with the strictest coastal air quality district regulations, including SCAQMD limits.
Can I apply Eco Marine Coating over existing solvent-based paint?
Yes, as long as the existing paint is fully cured (30+ days old) and properly sanded. The key is mechanical adhesion through sanding — the waterborne topcoat bonds to the sanded profile, not chemically to the old paint.
