Surface Preparation
- Sand glossy surfaces with 150-220 grit to remove sheen
- Clean with a general-purpose degreaser or TSP solution
- Scrape away any loose or peeling old paint
- Fill holes and cracks with appropriate filler and sand smooth
- Bare wood should be dry — moisture content below 15%
